INDIAN TSUNAMI WARNING SYSTEM
Step 1: first  seafloor observatory

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

NIOT technicians and Akademic Petrov Crew members are assembling the Envirtech Tsunameter DS1 few minutes before the deployment in the Bay of bengal on 3100 meters depth sea floor.

MeTAS DS2,

second prototype deep station for real time tsunami

measuring in the Mediterranean Sea, has been  successfully tested few miles off shore Palermo, Sicily.

The platform has been equipped with Paroscientific high precision pressure gauge and  related envirtech   ARM datalogger,  hosted in titanium vessels. The Envirtech MeTAS Ds2 - Seafloor Observatory for the Mediterranean Tsunami Alert System

A customized, very powerful, litium battery pack has been used to obtain more than 2 years of power autonomy.
In this second platform
will be tested an underwater telecommunication system based on magneto-inductive transceivers.
The DS2 Deep Station (Vulcan Class)  could be configured to collect many other parameters using
seismometers, Hydrophones, quality probes, current profilers and so on. In this way, together the companion buoy equipped with meteorological station and further transducers, it will be  implemented up-to-date real time seafloor observatory able to increase the benefit/cost ratio of  any Tsunami Warning System.

Envirtech "Poseidon Class" Seafloor Observatory for NIOT (National Institute of Ocean Technology) - INDIA
Indian Tsunameters
1th June, 2006

First two systems for indian National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT)

have been preliminary successfully tested at sea (see video stream). A  new class (Poseidon) of realtime seafloor observatories,   for tsunami assessment, has been developed by Envirtech labs to satisfy  the growing  request for  high reliability  equipments able to monitor tsunami waves with no uncertainty respect  estimation of land seismic networks. Until precise models able to correlate  Earthquakes and Tsunami waves  will be not  available, deep ocean seafloor devices will continue to be the only choose to avoid   fails  in  tsunami assessment.  According to the seismologist  Harsh K Gupta declarations released   at the   93rd Indian science Congress: "unlike the pacific tsunami warning system which generates large number of false alarms, the system being developed by Indian scientists would be fool-proof".
